What does Transparency International Norway work with?
Transparency International is the global civil society organization that is spearheading the fight against corruption. The organization has more than 90 departments located around the world and an international secretariat in Berlin. We spread knowledge on the negative effects of corruption and cooperate with governments, business and civil society to develop and launch effective initiatives to fight corruption.
Transparency International Norway was established in 1999 and is located in Oslo.

Why did Transparency International Norway choose to become a member organization of PWYP Norway?
TI Norway was one of the initiators of PWYP Norway. We wanted to support PWYP Norway, as its campaign consists of many organizations that aim to promote financial transparency in the extractive industries.
Transparency is important to prevent corruption and bad governance, and PWYP Norway is an active and strong contributor in advocating transparency.
What is the added value of PWYP Norway for the Norwegian civil society?
It is strengthening civil society to be able to gather around issues there is an abroad agreement on. Transparency regarding money flows, budgets, accounts and decision processes are important topics for many civil society organizations.
PWYP Norway's added value stems from it coordinating, preparing and advocating views on behalf of this community, towards governments and companies in the extractive industries. PWYP Norway communicates this though hearing statements, seminars and presence in Norwegian and international media.
