I perioden 2008-2009, ble første runde av TRACE gjennomført i Afrika for engelsktalende deltakere. 27 sivilsamfunnsrepresentanter fra sju land tok del i programmet og formet et regionalt nettverk på tvers av både landegrenser og ulike sivilsamfunnsaktører (organisasjoner, fagforeninger og media).

WREP began essentially as an initiative of two individuals, and has now grown into a strong, credible and effective NGO with formally established and functioning internal organisational structures and linkages with government and otehr partners. It contributes with expertise to good governance, transparency and accountability and engendered development through capacity building, mentorship and international task force and action committees.

Since 1997, Equity Advocates has published The Woman Today Newspaper in response to the media gap in gender issues. The organisation exists to give the media muscles to address these issues, and the utimate aim is to establish a women's television and radio station. The organisation also contributes to public debate, analysis, paper presentations, research, media programmes and project evaluations.
