1. What does Fagforbundet work with?

Fagforbundet is the largest union in LO Norway (The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions), heading toward 340,000 members. Fagforbundet´s main task is to ensure good and safe pay and working conditions. As the nation's largest labor union Fagforbundet also has influence and political impact to strengthen and develop the welfare state. Trade union organizes workers in municipalities, counties, state, private sector and public sector and in hospitals. Fagforbundet works for equality in a diverse workplace. Fagforbundet is fighting for equal pay and equal status between female-and male-dominated occupations.

2. Why did Fagforbundet choose to become a member organization of PWYP Norway?

"Trade union is committed to creating a more equitable distribution of wealth and resources both within each country and between countries. As many people as possible must understand what it is that make the distribution unfair. One of the ways is to obtain knowledge about the ways this is done, for the next phase is to document skew causes. One such example is the documentation that shows that the private kindergartens in Norway have branches in tax havens. This knowledge is contained in Fagforbundet´s work in general and used in schooling of our members. "

- Fanny Voldnes, Head of Economic Unit in Fagforbundet.

3. What is the added value of PWYP Norway for the Norwegian civil society?

PWYP Norway's work with extended country-by-country reporting and the work of highlighting the companies' financial flows across borders are important. If this reporting will be approved, it provides a good basis to combat that public funds meant for public services end up in private accounts in tax havens.
