The TRACE programme: A PWYP Norway-initiative for civil society

Throughout resource rich countries, civil society actors working for accountability and transparency in the extractive industries report the need for access to capacity development and arenas for networking and experience sharing.
Aiming to meet this need, Publish What You Pay Norway initiated the Transparency and Accountability in the Extractive Industries (TRACE)-programme, which is a civil society strenghtening programme. The three phased programme runs over one year, both in Norway and regionally, for representatives from NGOs, workers´ unions and the media in developing oil and gas rich countries.
During and after the programme we seek to work together with the programme participants on relevant advocacy areas in order to connect the TRACE programme with our political advocacy work.
The programme is financed by Oil for Development (a Norad programme) and implemented in cooperation with our programme partners PETRAD and Norwegian Church Aid.
