Kazakhstan civil society has made a guide for how civil society can scrutinize a production sharing agreement for oil and gas
The guide discusses the provisions of a particular type of oil and gas contract, the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA). The guide is aimed at a general civil society readership, but draws particularly on experience from Kazakhstan. The authors are Ingilab Ahmadov, Anton Artemyev, Kenan Aslanly, Ibragim Rzaev, Ilkham Shaban which are working in the organization "iied" (International Institute for Environment and Development are giving an accessible account of some key characteristics of PSAs, with a focus on revenue issues; and to suggest action points for civil society organisations involved with monitoring extractive industries.
