Founded in 1963, Uganda Joint Christian Council is a faith based organisation consisting of the Church of Uganda, the Roman Catholic Church and the Uganda Orthodox Church. The council has programmes that address issues of governance, including extractive industries.

The National Organisation of Trade Unions (NOTU) was established by Decree No. 29 of 1973. It is currently the most representative labour centre in Uganda with 20 labour union affiliates.
